A year after the release of "the Orange box" is only just beginning to emerge plot inimitable fashion Portal. The original game left too many questions. What happened to the main character? Where are all the scientists of Aperture Labs? Who designed all these sadistic challenge rooms and for what purpose? And most importantly, whether there was cake, really? This mod aims to answer if not all, then many of these issues.
It is immediately determined and understand that this is a prequel, prelude to the original Portal — GLaDOS appears only at the very end, and through testing you will be accompanied by comments and tips regular (read: living) people, employees of Aperture Science. In his "voice clarification", more like the jokes GLaDOS, they are constantly bickering, sniping each other, discuss the figure of the heroine ("Hey, but the microphone still works!") and experimenting in every possible way, if not "dabble". That is, behave similarly, and as is known to all artificial intelligence.
The author very carefully worked out plot and characters — so much so that by the end of the modifications begin very close to perceive what is happening on screen drama. Moreover, you will have the honor personally to include GLaDOS, thus arranging a local analogue of the famous scene of carnage at the Pentagon from "Terminator 3".
Gameplay the game has not changed, serious innovations are waiting for us at the end, when without the portal gun, you have to live some time alone with the raging AI, and then to fight your way through the rockets and flying chainsaw a La Half-Life 2.
Portal Prelude is an amazing modification that sometimes even surpasses the original game (especially on the level of adrenaline in the blood). All fans of Portal to play on a mandatory basis, because someday you may reach the official Portal 2 on the same topic and spoil the fun of this creation. Editors choice, definitely.
