DESCRIPTION of OPPORTUNITIES: The tiny utility of Open Source BIG Editor (in abbreviated form — OS BIG Editor) allows to view and unpack archives (BIG - files) practically all games of Electronic Arts giant company. With its help it is easy to get sounds, models, scripts, textures and some other resources from Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars/Kane Wrath, С&C: Generals, C&C: Renegade, and also The Battle for Middle-earth 1-2. Thus it is worth marking that the application is able to work not only with the whole archives, but also separately taken by files from them. The derived content can be used, for example, in case of assembly of free modifications for other taytl — Armed Assault, Crysis, GTA: SA, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, etc.
PRACTICE: To unpack the necessary game archive, execute the following chain of actions. Launch an executable file of bigeditor.exe. Then select menu item of File/Open and in the opened dialog box specify a full path to the BIG file. Select from the list arbitrary document which you want to derive, and File/Save As command (alternative — a diskette image button on a toolbar) save a game resource on a hard drive. For separation of two and more records clamp the Ctrl key then in turn select the necessary files. If you want to dearchive all database, select Edit/Extract All menu item.
